Lelon (Lizard)

Wadawurrung people are about looking after country and helping it to become healthy again and remain healthy for respect to our creator Bunjil.
Seeing many lizards on country is a good sign of healthy country as they are a food source for prey and they also help keep smaller species that they eat in balance too.
I have represented Lelon and their habitats with symbols. I have depicted mounts, hills plains and water. These two lelon are very healthy with full bellies.
This painting was made as a collaboration of mother and son, both Wadawurrung mob. My Son Mazin spray painted the background and I Lynette painted the details while sharing the story of the importance of Lelon.
