about PERRIDAK ARTS
Established in 2023 by Ballarat & District Aboriginal Cooperative (BADAC), Perridak Arts was created to provide local First Nations artists with a dedicated space to showcase and sell their work. As a key community organisation, BADAC has been supporting First Nations people since 1979, now employing over 200 staff and playing a vital role in self-determination, employment, and cultural preservation.
Located on Wadawurrung Country, our gallery at 214 Mair Street serves as both a cultural hub and an economic opportunity for local First Nations creators. The name Perridak—meaning Platypus in Wadawurrung Language—symbolises the diverse clans that make up Ballarat’s Aboriginal community, which has been deeply affected by the Stolen Generations.
Supporting First Nations Artists & Culture
Perridak Arts is proud to offer 100% authentic First Nations art, ensuring artists receive direct financial benefit for their cultural knowledge and artistic expression.

25% of proceeds fund BADAC’s community programs, which provide essential support and services to the local First Nations community.
Each purchase is an investment in the future of First Nations artists and a meaningful way to honour and preserve culture.
