Brendan Coleman

I was born in Albury NSW.  I only found out I was Aboriginal later in life.  My family did not speak about it, and so never told me.  I have discovered my Ancestors were Stolen Generation from the Hay area, but I am still on my journey to discover more of my Aboriginality.

I began painting while incarcerated, as part of “The Torch” project.  This is where I embraced my ancestry, and used my art as a way of connecting to culture.  It is very therapeutic and calming for me.
