I was born in York, WA and grew up on a “reserve” out of town. We lived off the land and shared with very traditional people. Many were artists and they taught me how to paint. I learnt a lot about my culture at that time. I would often dream of a picture, and then paint it on canvas. I called them my “dream pictures”.
As I got older, my art improved and I sold many pieces. I also have made my own fabric designs, and made clothing and curtains. I especially like drawing with dots and painting country.
I moved to Ballarat with my family in 1996, and although I spent many weeks in remote areas of Australia teaching my culture, Ballarat is now my home.
