I am a strong Barkinkji Woman. I am an artist and I love painting about the Barkindji River landscape.
I am self taught and grew up along the Darling River wandering around the bushland. I love fishing, swimming, eating kangaroo, Emu and grubs in the bush, but most of all I love sitting around on the River bank, listening to my beautiful Grandmother, Irene Johnson, who was a true Barkindji woman.
I loved the stories my Nan used to talk about on Barkindji land, when I was a little girl.
I come from a big family. A family of 11 children – 7 girls and 4 boys. I was raised by my mother Olive Mitchell, and my step father, Brian William.
The Darling River is my home. I love my culture and art and I love sharing my culture and teaching others.
